Onslaught's Nige Rockett comments on Thrash Invasion tour

Metalnews Power of
For Thrash Metal fans, there's something more important than the World Cup final that kicks off tomorrow. Onslaught, Artillery and Demonic Resurrection (from India) embark on UK's 'Thrash Invasion' tour.

The London date will include Onslaught, Artillery, Nightlord and One Machine, featuring Steve Smyth (Testament, Nevermore, Forbidden, Dragonlord, Vicious Rumors), and the Bristol date will have Onslaught, Artillery, Demonic Resurrection and Nightlord.

Onslaught guitarist and co-founder Nige Rockett got in touch with The Power of Metal Webzine to answer a couple of questions about this tour.......

Onslaught's website features 3 guitarists but the promo pics illustrate a quintet. So could you spell out the Onslaught formation geared for this UK 'Thrash Invasion' tour?

“Yeah, it’s a kinda strange situation. Andy [Rosser-Davies] has been unable to commit to touring over the past year or so due to personal issues hence why we have added Leigh Chambers into the Onslaught camp. Andy is still an active member of the band in terms of writing, etc., but will not be joining us on the road for the foreseeable future. Leigh is a fully-fledged member now and I look forward to working with him on new material also.”

Although the tour is reportedly promoting "VI", how inclusive of Onslaught's repertoire will the set-lists be?

“We will be including songs from every single Onslaught album.. I hate going to see bands and they predominantly play stuff from the latest release, mostly ignoring the past..Fans don't always wanna hear that so we're really mixing things up with songs from Onslaught day 1,right thru to the latest VI album. It’s a well-balanced set for everyone.”
