Spinefarm Records signs Ranger

Metalnews Power of
RANGER, Finnish masters of speed metal, have signed to Spinefarm Records. The band will be recording their label debut album this fall and a release is expected early 2015.

These young metal merchants sound as if they came straight out of the eighties and adapted their own style for a new generation of thrash and speed metal fans. Or as singer/bass player Dimi Pontiac likes to say: "Skull splitting METAL for maniacs pure!”. RANGER nailed something that eludes them from the majority of 'retro' acts. Fans of Agent Steel, Exciter, Razor and classic teutonic metal beware!

RANGER are Dimi Pontiac - vocals & bass, Miko Sipilä - drums, Mikael Haavisto - guitar and Ville Valtonen - guitar, and started in Helsinki, Finland in 2008. After three demos the band gained quite a cult status in Europe, which resulted in their first two releases on Ektro Records, the MLP Knights Of Darkness (2013) and their recently released 7” single Shock Skull. RANGER have already played many club shows in Finland and appeared on various Finnish festivals (Tuska, Ilosaari, Porispere, Jalometalli) and on European stages (Keep It True, Muskelrock, Live Evil).

Until the new album in 2015, have a listen at their MLP Knights Of Darkness at Bandcamp here and their recent 7” single Shock Skull here. 100% headbanging material. Check their facebook page for all the latest updates

RANGER live: October 17th - The Dome, Tufnell Park, London, UK

"Höchstgeschwindigkeit, entfesselte Gitarristen und Higher-than-the-sky Screams - so, Ladies & Gentlemen, geht Heavy Metal!” - Deaf Forever

"The eighties have nothing on Ranger. This is the real deal folks.” - Axis Of Metal

"These guys are a band to be reckoned with. If you like your metal fast and furious then this is the band for you.” - The Metal Archives

"Old metal never gets old and that’s a fact. The older the better, and the guys from Ranger know it. They are living proof that time CAN go back and gangs of headbangers can unite in the streets of Europe or elsewhere to beat the shit out of the poseurs.” - Metal As Fuck
